Boy hit by car in Citrus Heights crosswalk dies

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. - One of two brothers struck by a woman suspected of driving under the influence on Oct. 7, died on Wednesday.

The Sacramento County Coroner confirmed Thursday morning that Henry Perez-Rocha died after being hospitalized since the incident.

Six-year-old Henry Perez-Rocha and his 8-year-old brother Juan were crossing the street at the intersection of Greenback Ln. and Mariposa Ave. just after 8 a.m. when Tresa Bales-Sterba, 52, hit a Chevrolet Suburban,  lost control of her Chrysler 300 and veered into them, said officer Chad Morris of the Citrus Heights Police Dept.

Both boys were transported to hospital for treatment with major injuries following the crash.

According to Morris, Bales-Sterba failed a sobriety test at the scene and was arrested for felony DUI.
