Citrus Heights burglar search turns up empty

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA -Citrus Heights police officers blocked off the area of San Juan Ave. and Farmgate Way just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday to search for an undisclosed number of commercial burglars.

According to police on scene, officers patrolling the area spotted the men fleeing a burgled cigarette store on Greenback Ln. in a car and attempted to pull them over. The suspected thieves refused to pull over and fled into the area of Farmgate and San Juan before exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot.

Citrus Heights police set up a perimeter around the area to search for the men, but were unsuccessful in their efforts, officers said.

The perimeter was taken down around 7:48 a.m.

No identifying information was provided on the suspected burglars.
