UPDATE: Teen found safe after missing for hours

A Citrus Heights teen was found safe after missing for several hours Thursday.

Citrus Heights Police said 17-year-old Sage Medlin, who has autism, was last seen riding a blue or black mountain bike away from Mesa Verde High School at 10:35 Thursday morning.

Thursday evening, an officer saw Medlin boarding a bus and took him in. Police said the teen is now safe.

Police Sgt. Michael Wells said this was not the first time Medlin has run away.

Sacramento police need the public's help finding a suspect vehicle in an injury hit-and-run case.

A bicyclist, a woman in her 40s, was going south on the 6800 block of 24th Street around 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 15 when she was hit by a SUV. Police said she suffered serious injuries.

Through the investigation, detectives believe the SUV to be a 1996-2001 Ford Explorer or a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. Police said it is a dark colored SUV and would have damage to the right front headlight area, with possible damage to the right front hood area.
